The Exchange’s Patisserie Valerie is officially welcoming the winter weather with a scrumptious seasonal menu, designed to offer customers a tasty sweet treat or hearty meal as the frosty weather takes hold.

New additions to the menu include premium white and dark hot chocolate, made from real chocolate pieces and speciality drinks such as gingerbread and spiced chai lattes and seasonal Suki teas, all of which are available to drink in or to take away.

And to further tempt people out of the cold, the new winter menu includes 2 courses for £9.99 with three warming main meals and four tempting desserts to choose from, plus a child’s meal and drink off the brand new kid’s menu for just £3.50.

“We’ve worked very hard to make the new winter menu as fantastic as it can be, in order to offer our customers a haven from the harsh weather and increasing shopping crowds in the run up to Christmas,” enthuses Jon Hassall, Patisserie Valerie’s UK Operations Director. “Valerie Patisserie opens early for breakfast and late for dinner and offers delicious treats, drinks and lunches in between. Mackillop's Choice comes to Gauntleys.Gauntleys are proud to announce that the Mackillop's Choice range has been added to their whisky portfolio. This Independent bottling company was founded by Angus Dundee Distillers in 1996 and as they now buy Glencadam and Tomintoul directly from them, this has allowed them to also purchase a selection of the single cask bottlings that they release.

Each cask is selected by Lorne Mackillop, who incidentally is heir to the Mackillop Clan, which was all but wiped out by the English in the aftermath of the battle of Culloden in 1745 during the Jacobite Rebellion.

Lorne himself became a member of the Institute of Masters of Wine in 1984 and at the time he was the youngest person to be accepted as a Master of Wine. With his extensive knowledge of the whisky industry he selects casks, which are then bottled at either 43 or 46% without chill-filtering or the addition of caramel.
