DR. MARTENS GIVEAWAY WITH THE ORIGINAL ICON

What: The Big Dr. Martens Birthday Giveaway

When: 1st – 8th April 2016

Where: Dr. Martens UK Store at The Exchange

British footwear brand Dr. Martens is celebrating its birthday with its customers from 1st – 8th April by giving away a Dr. Martens: History of Rebellious Self-Expression book with every purchase of Originals boots or shoes* at their Nottingham store.
To mark its 56th year, it will also be giving all shoppers the chance to win two tickets, accommodation and travel for No. 6 festival in North Wales, a unique and original music festival set in the village of Portmerion with no purchase necessary.

Dr. Martens has championed individuality since 1960 when the first pair of 1460 boots rolled off the production line at its original Cobbs Lane factory in Northampton, England manufactured using AirWair’s traditional “Bouncing sole” and the brand’s unique industrial construction process.

The 1460 8-boot, named after the date it was created on the 1st April 1960, sets the precedent for the Dr. Martens Originals offer. The next year on the same date the 1461 3-eye shoe was introduced, first marketed as “a stout shoe made from all the same materials as the 1460 which can be worn for working or sporting occasions” and popularised in the early 80’s as a fashion item when students, musicians and notably girls adopted it, making it an everyday staple.

Dr. Martens Originals encapsulate all of the brands iconic unisex styles, including the 3989 brogue, the Adrian Tassel loafer, the Church Monkey boot, the 2976 Chelsea boot, the 1490 and 1914 boots, and for women the Polley T-bar shoe – offered in the classic oxblood, black and cherry red as well as a selection of colours and leather finishes. They feature all the classic Dr. Martens’ components, the air-cushioned sole providing comfort, durability and traction and the unique Goodyear-welt where the upper and sole are stitched and heat sealed for a durable construction.

Recognised worldwide for their uncompromising look, durability and comfort. Engineered from industry, championed through music, worn by individuals.

GRUNDAHL Spring 2016 Collection at TUTU Urban Boutique.

IVAN GRUNDAHL has become well known in Scandinavian countries in the last 30 years. He has stores in Denmark, has also made a notable impact in the United States. In the last decade, Ivan Grundahl has not only maintained his reputation in Danish fashion, but also internationally, and his influence continues to broaden with every collection.

IVAN GRUNDAHL design looks cool, avant-garde and international. In his urban outfits the designer fuses asymmetrical lines, uneven silhouettes, and the clean-cut architectural shapes of Scandinavia. They are sculpted with generous lines and frivolous ruffles showcasing balance, harmony, and freedom of movement.

IVAN GRUNDAHL is unequalled in his cuts and choice of fabrics. The mix of fabrics, knit, and leather with enormous pocket-bags and a confusion of belts is superb.

Marvel Superheroes | The Deluxe Editions

Marvel Superheroes | The Deluxe Editions
Following the record-breaking Marvel Superheroes release last year - which saw some pieces sell out in less than five minutes - Castle Fine Art are excited to announce the second deluxe editions collection of ‘Superheroes’is now available.
The art for most US comics was drawn over-sized on large sheets of paper and could be anything up to twice the size they appeared on the page. This super-size collection pays homage to the original large scale art, penned and inked by some of the greatest artists to emerge from the comic book industry.
These classic covers feature some of the most influential characters that have dominated our society over the many years of Stan Lee’s reign at Marvel, including The Incredible Hulk, The Amazing Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Invincible Iron Man and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers.
The characters and properties that originated in the pages of comics have gone on to become global entertainment sensations. Marvel’s own superheroes have survived the test of time from being anarchic, wisecracking misfits showing typically human issues of personal identity and social acceptance. Stan Lee’s characters faced the same challenges that we as readers deal with in society today.

Radley’s Jonathan Saunders SS16 Collection

Radley has launched an exciting new collaboration with British fashion designer Jonathan Saunders.

Inspired by Saunders' skill for combining often-unusual colour combinations and innovative print design, Radley worked closely with Saunders' to produce a striking collection of graphic leather bags and small leather goods that reference heritage Radley styles.

The Hazard print, a graphic checkerboard consisting of squares and triangles in varying sizes and colours, features throughout the collection and nods to Saunders' own collections. Colour blocking and print is used to create panels and highlight pockets with striking effect. Fastenings and handles are reminiscent of his approach to ready-to-wear in which separates allow print and colour to be paired together in an unexpected way.

The spring summer 2016 collection features eight styles bringing bold colour combinations of Oxblood, Nectarine, Blue Jade and Coral.

Much like his own collections, fabrication and the application of print is carefully considered throughout the range. Saunders was attracted to Radley's smooth polished Altmore leather to showcase the crisp graphic prints, and a blend of the polished Altmore and Meadle, a textured tumbled leather, for the stand-out colour block combinations, complimenting these with square profile hardware in gold.

Jonathan comments"I have really enjoyed the process of collaborating with Radley on this range of products. I feel consumers are more than ever looking for interesting product that stands out from the crowd so it was important to me to offer something young, colourful and fresh to the Radley customer. Collaborating with a brand that has such a large heritage meant I was able to work with their design team to create product with the functionality that has been tried and tested for years and upgrade this with modern print designs."

Styles include: a backpack, tote, bucket, shoulder, cross body and clutch, plus two sizes of wallet all seen in variations of the colourways and print.

This exciting new collection highlights the brand's ongoing love for working with great creative British talent.
