Radley’s Jonathan Saunders SS16 Collection

Radley has launched an exciting new collaboration with British fashion designer Jonathan Saunders.

Inspired by Saunders' skill for combining often-unusual colour combinations and innovative print design, Radley worked closely with Saunders' to produce a striking collection of graphic leather bags and small leather goods that reference heritage Radley styles.

The Hazard print, a graphic checkerboard consisting of squares and triangles in varying sizes and colours, features throughout the collection and nods to Saunders' own collections. Colour blocking and print is used to create panels and highlight pockets with striking effect. Fastenings and handles are reminiscent of his approach to ready-to-wear in which separates allow print and colour to be paired together in an unexpected way.

The spring summer 2016 collection features eight styles bringing bold colour combinations of Oxblood, Nectarine, Blue Jade and Coral.

Much like his own collections, fabrication and the application of print is carefully considered throughout the range. Saunders was attracted to Radley's smooth polished Altmore leather to showcase the crisp graphic prints, and a blend of the polished Altmore and Meadle, a textured tumbled leather, for the stand-out colour block combinations, complimenting these with square profile hardware in gold.

Jonathan comments"I have really enjoyed the process of collaborating with Radley on this range of products. I feel consumers are more than ever looking for interesting product that stands out from the crowd so it was important to me to offer something young, colourful and fresh to the Radley customer. Collaborating with a brand that has such a large heritage meant I was able to work with their design team to create product with the functionality that has been tried and tested for years and upgrade this with modern print designs."

Styles include: a backpack, tote, bucket, shoulder, cross body and clutch, plus two sizes of wallet all seen in variations of the colourways and print.

This exciting new collection highlights the brand's ongoing love for working with great creative British talent.
