Lens Flares – Behind the scenes at the Exchange’s SS15 photoshoot

This season’s Exchange Magazine shoot took on a decidedly retro feel, inspired as we were by one of the main trends for SS15 – the 1970s.
Shot once again by Nottingham photographer, Michael Lau, and with Nottinghamshire-based models and crew, the day began at 7.30am with hair and make-up. With that underway, the selected clothes and accessories for the shoot were collected and sorted into sets – itself a major undertaking!
Suitably coiffured, made-up and dressed down, models Lauren – her hair a master-work of lacquer & curls -  and Jesus – not that one – strutted their stuff in front of the camera, whilst those of us behind the lens did our best to channel our inner Farrah Fawcett’s and Lee Majors, assisted by an appropriately ‘70s playlist.
Whilst not all the clothes featured were ‘70’s-inspired – double denim notwithstanding! – we hope the overall vibe reflects that era, and gives an insight into some of the great styles available this season in The Exchange’s stores.
The shots opposite give an insight to what was involved in putting the shoot together, with the final images in the SS15 edition of The Exchange Magazine. You can pick up a magazine for free in any store in The Exchange now, or view the fully interactive digital edition by clicking here > http://ow.ly/LTmKu  The online issue also contains an exclusive extended edit of the shoot, featuring shots not seen in the print edition.
